FortiFone Softclient for Mobile Overview | FortiFone

Presenters detail vulnerability discovery and exploitation in FortiFone Softclient for Mobile Overview | FortiFone.

Summary

This video provides a product demonstration and tutorial of the FortiFone mobile soft client, a unified communications application available for Android and iOS devices. The tutorial walks through the core features and user interface elements.

Outgoing Calls: Users can initiate calls using the dial pad. The application provides hands-free operation via the speaker function and allows selection of audio output methods (speaker or Bluetooth headset) through an audio menu. Calls can also be initiated from the device's call history or contact list by selecting an entry and tapping the call icon.

Incoming Call Handling: When the soft client is running, incoming calls appear with an answer icon. Calls can be answered even when the device screen is locked using the standard device method. Unwanted calls can be declined, and the caller follows the call handling settings configured for the extension on FortiVoice.

Call Transfers: Two transfer types are supported. Attended transfers allow the user to speak with the intended recipient before completing the transfer—initiated by tapping the transfer icon, selecting attended transfer, dialing the recipient, and then confirming transfer once the recipient agrees. Blind transfers send the call directly to the recipient without prior conversation. Both methods provide successful transfer notifications.

Conference Calling: Users can add a third party to an active call by tapping the add call icon, dialing the party, and then tapping merge calls to establish a three-way conference. The manage conference feature displays parties separately, allowing users to end individual calls while maintaining the conference with other participants.

Visual Voicemail: The application displays new voicemail notifications on the device lock screen. Users can access all voicemail messages for their extension, play messages with progress bar controls, and perform actions such as deleting messages or calling back the sender. These options are available both from a dedicated voicemail screen and directly from the main interface.
