Welcome to CrikeyCon IX

Organizers Wade and Glenn open the ninth Brisbane event with an Acknowledgement of Country for Turrbal and Yuggera peoples. They note the community skipped two pandemic years, making this the tenth anniversary season.

Community Growth and Charity

First CrikeyCon at the Polish Club had about sixty-eight attendees; recent events neared one thousand tickets. Surplus funds donate to local charities, totaling over $125,000 across causes such as indigenous literacy, homelessness, and women's shelters.

Audience and Format

Hands-up polls show many first-timers, interstate visitors, industry professionals, hobbyists, and newcomers. The conference avoids rigid tracks but adds workshops and longer sessions in adjacent rooms while keeping a single-stage main program.

Platinum sponsors dotc and Queensland Government return, joined by long-time gold supporters including Securo, Versent, Databricks, Division5, and Sidearm. Organizers thank speakers, volunteers, and attendees because ticket revenue alone cannot fund the event.
